Finally, some progress. The weather has
broken, so I've been able to work on the car. The
old
motor is out, and I'll be working on getting the new motor installed
and set up over the next few months. August 2004 The new motor is finished, and I'm just waiting for a stretch of cool weather to work on the car. Mid-summer temps in Las Vegas run about 110, and I think I'll enjoy driving the car rather than sweating in a garage. My target is to start the replacement process in October.
I'll still have quite a bit of work to do,
as there are wiring, plumbing, and other jobs that must wait until the
engine is in the car. Plus, of course, getting it to run and learning
how to tune the TEC³. January 2004 I've been collecting all the parts for the new motor. This has been a very slow process, so I've stopped estimating when it will be completed. Since I'm replacing the motor, the turbo, the fuel system, and installing a TEC³ standalone EMS with direct ignition, I've been a bit overwhelmed at all the stuff I'm dealing with. I've also changed my mind on some of the stuff as time has passed. I'll be posting How-To information as I am able.
